Your Motability package will cover the majority of costs you would normally have when owning and running a car, such as insurance, road tax, servicing and maintenance. But, there are some costs that you will be responsible for such as:
- Fuel costs
- Any added accessories you put in your car
- Advanced payments if you choose a higher specification car
- Optional adaptations that come at an extra cost
- Repair costs of any cosmetic damage through neglect or misuse of the car
At the end of your three year contract you will be given three choices, you can hand your car back and choose a brand new car for another three years, ask to keep your current car and pay any outstanding finance owing or you can return your car to the dealership and have your Disability Living Allowance reinstated. You will be sent a letter with your options about three months before the end of your contract giving you plenty of time to make a decision or to order your new vehicle.
