The all‑new CUPRA Born: updated design, more tech, and a sharper electric driving experience

The CUPRA Born has returned with refreshed styling, upgraded technology, and a more refined driving experience. Already an award‑winning electric hatchback, the latest model builds on the strengths of its predecessor with subtle but meaningful improvements. 

As CUPRA’s first all-electric car, the Born helped define the brand’s approach to performance-focused electric driving. The newest version continues that direction, offering a sharper look, higher‑quality interior materials, and enhanced driver‑focused technology.

Updated exterior design 

The new CUPRA Born introduces a series of subtle but meaningful exterior changes that modernise its appearance.  

Both the front and rear bumpers have been redesigned to give the car a more contemporary, sculpted look. CUPRA has also added Matrix LED headlights, bringing advanced lighting technology to the Born and improving visibility on the road. At the rear, the lighting signature has been updated with a 3D light bar that now incorporates an illuminated CUPRA logo, creating a distinctive visual identity at night. 

A new colour option, Timanfaya Grey, joins the range, giving drivers another way to personalise the car’s appearance. Altogether, these updates help align the Born with CUPRA’s latest design language while maintaining the sporty character that defines the brand. 

Interior and technology upgrades 

Inside the cabin, CUPRA has focused on improving both usability and perceived quality. One of the most noticeable changes is the redesigned steering wheel, which now features physical controls for a more intuitive and tactile driving experience. 

Sustainability remains central to the Born’s interior, with bucket seats upholstered in SEAQUAL® Yarn and Dinamica® microfibre made from recycled materials. Updated door panels and refined materials throughout the cabin contribute to a more premium feel compared with earlier versions. 

Technology has also taken a step forward. A larger 10.25‑inch digital cockpit provides clearer, more customisable driving information, while the optional augmented reality head‑up display projects key data directly into the driver’s line of sight. The audio system has also been enhanced with Sennheiser’s Contrabass technology, delivering deeper and more immersive sound quality. 

Electric performance and driving experience 

Performance continues to be a defining element of the CUPRA Born. The updated model offers a choice of motor and battery configurations, allowing drivers to select the level of power and range that best suits their needs. 

At the top of the range, the Born VZ produces up to 326PS, delivering strong acceleration and the instant torque that electric vehicles are known for. CUPRA has also introduced features such as launch control and a One Pedal Driving system, which allows the driver to accelerate and decelerate using a single pedal for a smoother, more controlled experience. 

Wider tyres available with the 19‑inch and 20‑inch wheels improve grip and stability, while the Born’s balanced chassis ensures the car remains agile and responsive. These updates help maintain the dynamic driving characteristics that CUPRA drivers expect. 

Range and charging 

The CUPRA Born offers two battery options to suit different driving patterns. Models equipped with the 79kWh battery can achieve a range of up to around 372 miles† on a full charge, making them ideal for longer journeys. Versions with the 58kWh battery offer up to around 279 miles†, providing a more compact and efficient option for everyday driving. 

Charging performance has also been improved. The Born supports DC rapid charging at speeds of up to 185kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 26 to 30 minutes under optimal conditions. This makes the Born practical for both daily use and longer trips.
