What does a SEAT MOT test include?

Last updated on the 3rd February 2026

When your SEAT comes in for its MOT at Mon Motors, our SEAT-trained Technicians carry out all checks required by the DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency). This involves assessing key safety and roadworthiness items such as brakes, tyres, lights, wipers, and other essential components.

Once the inspection is complete, your vehicle will either pass or fail the test. A pass means your SEAT meets the legal standard for the next 12 months, and you’ll receive a VT20 certificate. Even with a pass, the report may highlight minor issues - these aren’t serious enough to cause a failure but should be monitored to avoid future problems.

If your SEAT doesn’t meet the required standard and fails, the MOT report will list any major or dangerous faults. These are often straightforward fixes, and our SEAT‑approved technicians at our Bristol and Gloucester dealerships will aim to get you back on the road as quickly as possible. Any parts we fit are genuine SEAT components and come with a two‑year warranty for added reassurance.

We understand that unplanned repair costs can be difficult to plan for, which is why we offer 0% finance on repair bills. This allows you to spread the cost over monthly payments with no added interest, and you can delay your first payment by up to 40 day (T&Cs apply).
