Mud becomes an enormous part of lifestyle on British roads during winter. This slippery customer rears its dirty head more or less everywhere you go, making it impossible to avoid, but don’t let it bog you down. Instead, unleash the facility of all-wheel drive within the Audi A4 allroad quattro and let your car handle the worst winter has got to offer – leaving you sitting high and dry.

This vehicle was engineered to tackle all road surfaces, including trails and tracks where normal cars would struggle for traction and fear to tread. As standard, it features all-wheel drive, as well as increased ground clearance to ride over dips and holes.

On the motorway out from London, our test car delivers a very relaxing driving experience because of the dual leather front Sport seats and cosseting suspension. The gently weighted but direct steering then comes into its own on winding roads through the Berkshire Hills the A4 allroad shows off its sporty side, remaining perfectly poised and balanced even in tighter corners.
With 370Nm of pulling power on tap, the punchy, four-cylinder, two-litre turbocharged petrol engine effortlessly propels the vehicle forward with a delicate go on the accelerator, even up steep hills. It also has the power to surge the car to 62mph during a mere 6.1 seconds and transmits its power to all four wheels by a smooth and precise dual-clutch seven-speed S tronic transmission, which you'll be able to also control in manual mode by using the paddles behind the wheel.
Offered exclusively in Sport trim, the A4 allroad provides a bunch of luxurious equipment. The list is long and includes aluminium roof rails, 18-inch five v-spoke alloy wheels, LED signature headlights and LED taillights with dynamic rear indicators, which combine to make an exceptionally sophisticated look. Inside, the elegant cabin abounds with technology like MMI Navigation plus and Audi Virtual Cockpit, Audi Smartphone Interface, DAB digital radio and, for effortless manoeuvring, Audi parking system plus with rear-view camera. A power-operated boot lid and a reversible compartment floor makes it simple to utilise the A4 allroad’s generous 495-litre luggage space.
