There were tears and laughter as the Pride of Gwent winners shared their stories at an awards event on Friday 25th May held at Coldra Court Hotel.
Our Audi Cardiff dealership proudly sponsored the ‘Charity Award’, presented to Age Connects Torfaen, winners of the category. In attendance was Gabe Masterson, Audi Cardiff Sales Manager, who presented the award to the winners of our sponsored category.
Age Connects Torfaen is a charity for older people living in Torfaen. They are a locally based charity which aims to reduce poverty, loneliness and isolation by providing information, activities and increasing independence of the service user. You can discover more about the charity here.
The awards event, held at the Coldra Court Hotel, were an opportunity to present awards to the 14 winners as well as reveal the winner of the main award - the overall Pride of Gwent Award.
The overall winner, chosen from among the 14 cateogry winners, was Daniel Biddle who lives in Abergavenny. He won the 'Achiever Award' and explained that he was the most seriously injured survivor of the terrorist attack on July 7, 2005.
Mr Biddle now volunteers his time with Gwent Police to help train officers in disability awareness and hate crime.
