Celebrating the people behind Newport Ford

At Newport Ford, we recently came together to celebrate five colleagues whose combined service totals an incredible 140 years with the business. 

The celebration recognised Mike Rudge and Carole Woodcock, who have each reached 40 years with Newport Ford, alongside Shirley Ann Price, Oliver Ravetta, and Lee Upshall, who are celebrating 20 years of service. 

It was an opportunity to reflect on their careers, recognise their achievements, and thank them for the important role they have played in the dealership's success. 

Together, they have witnessed significant changes across both Newport Ford and the wider automotive industry, adapting to new technologies, evolving customer expectations, and continued growth while helping maintain the high standards the dealership is known for today. 

Recognising 40 years of service

Mike Rudge - Bodyshop Estimator 

Mike began his career with Newport Ford in 1986 and has spent the last four decades building extensive knowledge and experience within the Bodyshop operation. His expertise and commitment have made him a highly respected member of the team and a familiar face to many customers over the years. 

Carole Woodcock – Senior Service Advisor  
 

Carole has also enjoyed an impressive 40-year career with Newport Ford, starting as a Filing Clerk and progressing through a variety of roles, including Invoicing Clerk and Service Advisor, before becoming Senior Service Advisor. Reflecting on her 40-year milestone, Carole said: 

"I've always enjoyed my role and the people I work with. Over the years, many colleagues have become close friends, and being recognised for my achievements along the way has made my career at Newport Ford especially rewarding." 

Celebrating 20 years of service  

The occasion also provided an opportunity to recognise Shirley Ann Price, Oliver Ravetta, and Lee Upshall as they reached 20 years with the business. Over the past two decades, they have played an important role within the dealership, supporting colleagues, customers, and the wider business. 

Reflecting on her milestone, Shirley Ann said: 

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time over the years with Mon Motors and continue to give my all in what I do. Thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way, looked after me, and here's to a few more years working alongside lovely colleagues and building even more friendships."

Reaching 40 or even 20 years with one employer is a remarkable achievement and reflects not only loyalty, but also the positive relationships and culture built over many years. Mike, Carole, Shirley Ann, Oliver, and Lee have all played an important role in Newport Ford's story and continue to be valued members of the team today.
